Thanks Paul. I've rebooted modem. I use zonealarm firewall, but I've tried disabling it, I've put upload.ntlworld.com into trusted zone, I've given relevant programmes permissions. I'm logged in as administrator. And I have checked passive ftp in advanced options in internet explorer. Still no connection to ftp server!

Sorry, should have added I have not previously accessed web space - this is my first attempt.
