Well you can install it by directing the program to it. But to actually self contain the program and have it actually run on different machines is a different story. Some programs need ddl files installing and registry entries to run correctly some do not so try it and see.Usb sticks can be made bootable and there is a new type mainly for this purpose . These will boot just like a normal boot device like a cd or hdd performanace of say a linux distro from this device would be a lot better than a live cd
