In my opinion, people are over-reacting about this, the same way we're all going to die in our beds if we keep on driving petrol cars. I'm out on this one, I've said all I've got to say, and I'm going to stop defending the masses. *If* VM Broadband is as bad as a few of you are saying tell me:

Why they've been voted best consumer IP?
Why Broadband customer churn is only 1.6%?
Why VM have got 4 million broadband customers?

How on earth are VM American? Virgin is owned by Richard Branson last time I looked. A guy born and bred in the UK...?

"I'm out on this one".

but dont leave, stay and learn those things you dont know yet (and try not to make so many assumptions. get the facts), after all noone knows everything, for instance Richard Branson does NOT own 'Virgin Media' , he owns a non controlling slice of it.

these new faces that i mentioned, are the Virgin Media boardroom and higher management americans that put all these concepts into the pipe and leave the hard working british workers to get on with it while not financing it to the full...

theres a reason VM are more and more turning into the US style cable operation you are seeing now, rather than them looking to the fast expanding EU and the far east etc, thats because of their american ties to that tech and contracts for friends business; but thats for another thread perhaps.

{edit} added url so people get an idea of how US cable operate

Virgin Media ONLY ADVERTISE UNLIMITED DOWNLOADS, Always have, do, and always will. You are not being cut off when you hit the "cap", you are being limited. NOT CUT OFF, hence Virgin are not in the wrong!!!!!
now that traffic throttling in being put in place, then that could be construde as 'false advertising', report them...., if it happens that anyone is infact 'cut off' as you put it, then under the consumer contract you have every right to go and get an emergency injunction against Virgin Media and make them re-connect you, then think about all the other options open to you under the contract and law.
