I'm guessing that the share for C: is the default administrative share? If so, then this doesn't work.

What you need to do (and to make it easier, turn off simple file sharing in the folder options) is share individual folders that you want to transfer data from.

To connect to the shares to transfer the files, click go/connect to server (or shortcut command+k) and type smb/ipaddress

the default windows workgroup is WORKGROUP so leave that as is (unless you have changed it) and enter the user details. This then brings up a dialogue box from where you can select which shares you connect to...
