i think to the fans the top prize is to win the league.. managers can view these things differently as Fergie grew up seeing the European Cup Final at Hampden Parkin 1960 and so had wanted to win it ever since then hence his comment

well done to Liverpool they beat all the teams they had to after the group stages and got to a well deserved final

we played rubbish last night and could barely pass to our own men and got beat.. fair play to AC, whatever the rights and wrongs of them being there, there played better than us and beat us
