Never tried it, but if you don't have a router, you'd need to assign a fixed IP address to the laptop, and fixed IP to the printer wireless adaptor so they can "see" each other. Then in your printer settings on the lappy assign an IP port to the printer and see what happens. In that respect I can't see how working wireless is any different to a peer to peer wired network.
