Hi there,

I have just got the 10mb package from VM and I have noticed in speed tests that my wireless router seems to be limited the results of the speed tests such as speedtest.net and robin d walkers speedtest.

While the pc is connected via an ethernet cable to the router, I get a consistent 10mb speed, however when connected to the wireless, my speed can (obviously) vary depending on the channel i run it on. I used netstumbler and there are over 10 wireless access points nearby, so changing the channel has a strong effect. I went through all 12 channels and the best I could get was 6mb, while the worst was that I couldnt even connect to the router!

I am using the laptop with built in wireless. However I have tried the pc upstairs which has the matching network card for the router, which is essentially then meant to offer 108mbps, using MIMO etc. Ironically however, it actually doesn't get past 4mb instead!

What I would like to know is if anyone else has this router and if they are able to get the full 10mb, in which case I will know that it is local wireless interference, or that other people have this problem and that it could be hardware limitation of the router!
