Not very hard if the Staines branch is anything to go by.
Placed an order online to pick up a router in store, went along an hour or so later and they were sold out.
"What about my router that I paid for online which is supposed to be set aside for me to pick up?" I asked.
"Oh we don't do that" they replied.

So it seems, for that store at least, they wait for someone to turn up with the print out, then go grab one off the shelf, rather than reserve one for you.
