you can pick up a wired router for about Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£30.
I have a Linksys one from Amazon. Cost about Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£28 and does the job nicely.
Just make sure it is a cable router and not an ADSL router. Only use ADSL routers if you connect to the Internet via ADSL.

Also, check that you have ethernet (network) ports on your PC and Mac as these connect to the router.
