Stuart, I do know that the ST780 by default should have an idle time or anything like that... I havent heard of any issues with the ST780 and Vista and I do frequently visit dutch techie websites where peeps got the ST's and havent had problems with them, just the wlan cards.

I dont think its in the Vista machine at all, but then it does sound suspicious that you got the forceterminate error.

With regards to the reset did you do it via the software or say pressing the button on the back of the unit?
