Re: goodmans dvd recorders

sorry to hear that.

I have a philips hdd 80 gig hardrive & dvd recorder version 3300H.

this works very well with my pace box and my Sharp Aquos. Is it still under warranty. I know you say its not because its cheap.

When buying hardware sometimes the rule often applies in some cases is the more you pay the better the component build. I payed not the earth for mine. You just cannot expect £100 device to perform like £400+ device.

I would also ward myself that these cheap DVDR's will generally not that good for digital use. I payed £150 from tesco's and it does what it says on the box.

Its not got brilliant editing tools and you must record to HD before DVD. I also have time shift facility. Which really I did not want as I plan to get V+. I wanted a hd version as not all programs are worth keeping. So to view it and to knock out adverts before recording to DVD.

I am also able to split so I can record HQ though this means a 2 hour film takes 2 disks for the cost I get a very good recorder.
