If you previously recorded live TV, then you have your recorder connected to the wrong SCART output of the V+.
Hmm...I think I have to setup you have suggested:

V+ top scart goes to TV
V+ bottom scart goes to DVD player
DVD player set to Video signal

Someone else has suggested "When you use the copy to dvd function it outputs via the av2 scart on the v+.
This way you can watch live tv while backing up your recordings."

I'm confused because my DVD player is AV1.
