the old pace IR was designed with multi user interactivity in mind (with hindsight a bit of a mistake really) and that did play havoc with those cheap and nasty IR extenders (mind you even under ideal conditions mose of them where more annoying than usefull

wont record 2 channels properly even with top spec hardware and 2 tuners!!
as to plasma TV's..
lets just not go there!!
I repair them (amongs other things) for a living
and let me just say.. it will be a cold day in hell before I have one!
if you want cheap reliable TV with good picture quality go for CRT
if you want something to hang on the wall.. buy a painting lol!
oh and if you want something to heat your living room a gas fire is more economical than a gas plasma display!!
