V+ is better in theory as it has 3 tuners as opposed to Sky's 2. It is also free and not Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£300.

V+'s problem comes regarding content. With Sky HD you get HD movies and sport, as well as some documentary channels. With Virgin Media HD content is thin on the ground, so while it's a better box in theory, you can't watch as much stuff on it.
