Hi jgrant
i just got my self the 10mb deal with telewest (virgin)
and i noticed if i connect my PC directlt to the modem i getd download speeds of around 1.9mb's-
if how ever i connect my modem through wan into the wpn824 and have my pc connected direct into the wpn824 eithernet ports

have yo had any joys in sorting this out?
iv just started searching google and came across your post -
please post back if you have had any joy
- just to clarify
this is not over wifi this is a direct connection between my modem and wpn824 and my pc which is wired into the wpn824

I have a wired router which works fine - so it seems to me to be the Netgear causing the slow down. I guess they have not come across this problem before as most people are on 2mb DSL or Cable so wouldn't notice the slow down.

I called Netgear and got through to their "offshore" technical support and was asked if I had loaded the firmware - to which I replied yes, and was then told to return the device for exchange as it was broken - didn't seem to be particularly thorough fault finding - they guy also told me that the Ethernet port would run at 108mb/s - so I was a bit suspicious of his technical background

Looking around the forums it looks like this device is not up to scratch and I am guessing a replacement may not solve my problems - so my question is, has anyone got any recommendations as to which Wireless router to use with the NTL 10mb service.

Thanks in advance for your advice.
