Had a VM chap out during the week who put me back to the SCART connection until Saturday when another VM chap is coming out to swap the box
Sounds like the same symptons as yours but mine is intermittent and not just on the HD (108) channel.
When it goes, is affects all channels but still records programmes OK.

So i can select the hd channel, i know the connection works as i get the menu, but i don't get a normal tv picture. If I standby the box, on power up I can see a picture for a second before it reverts to browsing the guide only.
I've done a reformat... tried the 2nd hdmi connection and a 2nd cable.
Any pointers apperciated
