Re: Temperamental Service with router

sounds like a NTL 100 to me..do the following when you connected the modem straight to the pc.

go to start --> Run --> type in "cmd" (without the " "'s) then in the dos prompt type in "ping 192.168.100.1 -t -w 10" this will ping the modem continually until you stop it with CTRL + C, let this test run for say 1 hour.

This should see if I'm correct quite a few packets lost (time out) for roughly 30 hits, then come up, then 30 hits time out again.

If that is the case call NTL and say that your modem is faulty.
