Pretty sure the lead from the Modem goes to the WAN port (nearest arial on router) and a cable from a LAN port should go to the Ethernet card
From the quick installation guide
http://safecom.cn/code/product/WR/SW...0/FAQ/qig.html- Before you begin, ensure that a DSL/Cable Modem is supplied by your ISP and the PC is turned off.
- Connect your DSL/Cable Modem to the Internet Port on the Wireless Router (SWBARR-5400) using a standard RJ-45 Ethernet Cable.
- Connect an Ethernet cable to one of the LAN ports on the back of the router to the Ethernet Port on your PC.
- Turn On the DSL/Cable Modem first.
- Then turn ON your Wireless Router (SWBARR-5400).
- Check the LED's: The Power, Internet and WLAN LED's should be ON.
For each active LAN PC connection, the LAN Activity LED's (1-4) should be ON.
- Turn ON your PC.
