Thats what I thought as well but the only encrytion options I had on the USB adapter was Open Access, Shared and WPA - even with encryption turned off

on the wireless router and USB adapter I still get no internet access but it stills says its connected to the wireless router

The network settings of the PC are all set as dynamic so would have thought this was ok? I've even checked the ip addresses and gateways for the usb adapter and found this to be in the same range as the router. The Cable Wireless Router has its own built in firewall - Could this be stopping it? I can get internet access if i use an ethernet cable in the back of the wireless router so the problem must lie with the wireless connection.
I've never trusted Windows 98 network capabilities and have purchased a spanky new PC with Windows XP so will try with this when its delivered
