well digital tv needs a good signal if yoru in a strong area you will sometimes get channels using an internal aerial but I wouldnt imagine there is many areas that would give you free view, In weaker signal areas you need a full wideband aerial.
You wont need a free view box but you may need to strap an aerial to your back
