Make sure the PC is turned on.
Turn on the printer and plug in the USB cable. IMPORTANT! Do this before you insert the printer CD.
If the Found New Hardware wizard appears, click Cancel.
Insert the Installation CD. The installation screen will appear.

When the Registration screen appears, click Continue to register your printer on Lexmark's website now or Exit if you don't want to register.
Click Finish. When the installation is finished, the All-in-One Center will appear.

Strange, I would try checking in device manager as suggested. If it's listed then it should install. If all else fails try loading the CD first and then plug the printer in.
