Had the same problem when sorting out connecting a friend's new Linksys router to her NTL modem.

Resolved it by getting the MAC address from the USB connection* and putting that into the Linksys "MAC Spoof" config settings, then a quick DHCP renew and working fine.

The router had tried to spoof the MAC of the ethernet port while the modem was looking for the MAC of the USB port.



*Easiest way of doing this is to open a Command Prompt window and type in IPCONFIG/ALL then write down the physical address settings for the USB port.
