iTunes rip speed?

It has been a while since I did a big import of CDs into iTunes, so the question. What speed do you get when you import?

I am seeing speeds between 4 and 7x. Converting to 128k AAC files.

This is from an inbuilt 48x CD or 4x DVD and writing to an inbuilt Raid0.

Two things have changed on this PC since the last big import.
1. iTunes is now 7.0.2.16
2. the CPU is now a Sempron 2600 wheras before it was an Athlon 2400.

Back last time I was seeing speeds of 10-14x so this will double the time it takes to import these CDs.

So post your speeds (and I guess your CDdrive / CPU and HDD specs.

Or suggest quicker ways to create a big pile of ACC (nor MP3) files.
