You need to enter the WPA-PSK security key in XP as well as your router. I've always found it's better to let the adaptor manufacturer's software control the wireless settings rather than Windows.

You shouldn't have the wireless & wired interfaces active together. Disable the one you're not using by right clicking on its icon in the notification area & choosing 'Disable'.
