think the modem is the ntl 100 - its the older grey one not the new one which i think is blue.

i have tried powering up in the required order about ten times to no avail - shall give it one more go.

also, i have the modem linked to the computer via usb and the modem>router and router>computer hooked up via ethernet cables.

the search continues!
