you shouldnt need to do all that just power everything down and wire it all up. switch on modem allow to settle switch on router allow to settle then switch on pc. This should then allow you to connect . look in your manual for setting up wireless and explore your router settings enable wireless then set up wpa security(its just a password) this should then set your wireless connection. All them devices will work but you will have to rtfm on setting them up
