ADSL Max is basically when LLU is enabled on the line meaning that it "unlocks" the 2 Mb/s cap meaning you just get as much as your signal allows.

ADSL2+ doubles the number of downstream bits cf standard ADSL meaning the connection speed can be doubled regardless of where you are.

With ADSL Max, if you can only get 1 Mb because of the line, you will only get 1 Mb, on ADSL2+ you will get 2.
