1.2 gig per hour.

at
640 x 352@900kbit/s brings it down to something like
290meg, if you want to go mad, but still get better quality than the old ASP divx/xvid encoding, then you can reduce it to below 500mbit/s and it will still look good at full screen res (you can get it down as low as 100meg wth practice and smaller screen/bitrates with AVC/x264).
its VERY handy for the old laptop (and handheld devices) that cant cope with the original 3000kbit/s ts and it encodes with the right settings (dont use insane), a little over realtime with your average x86 amd cpu.
you can use dvbportal
TSConverter to cut it up and get the junk out so as to make it even smaller to begin with, and it works with AVC/x264 encoded content so thats a bonus.
