For those who dont follow a team with an attendance and income of the likes of Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal etc etc, mid table would not be seen as being considered poor. Most pundits in the game associate Curbs with being a succesful manager based on teh resources he has had to work with. I suggest they know more about football than you do.
