I do like the look of the Samsungs. I have read that the LGs I mentioned earlier are very good, but the Samsungs do tend to come out on top from what I've seen.
Another thing - stands! the stand I use at the moment is the one my current TV came with. If I get a new HD Ready LCD, I'm gonna end up having to buy a stand/cabinet too....ones I've seen all seem to cost a couple of hundred
