The way to do it is by trial and error, plug in the power switch to the back pair of pins, disconnect the hard drive but leave the monitor on, press the power button, if the fan on the processor spins, you found the power switch, if not try the next pair of pins...
Once you have that, try the power LED next, generally the green wire goes to the rear of the machine, but if you don't find a pair that runs that way, try it with the wires reversed,
After that, the hard drive led - red wire to the same direction as the green, on the last pair of pins., then reconnect the hard drive

Well I thought we had it, connected the power switch leads and hit the button, fans fired up

pulled the power connected the power led leads, fired up, ..... nothing, the fans don't even turn

tried disconnecting power led and trying only the power switch but nothing, strange
Down but not beaten, got all day to mess around
