I hope this is posted in the right spot... Anyways, I am useing an Ambit cable modem that is giving out private Ip addresses. I am trying to connect another computer to the modem but the new computer isn't getting internet, but it is getting a simple connection (file transfer only) to my original computer. Also, i need wireless internet and so I attempted to hook up a Linksys 2.4 ghz wireless-G broadband router but I cant even get any internet to go through it much less wireless
. It says it cant find the internet. I'm thinking if I could somehow get the Ambit Charter modem to assign public IP's this all might go away. I checked the modem's website and it tells me what its settings are but I have no way of changeing them
. Hopefully someone has come across this and has a solution for me! Thanks guys/gals!
