This i can back up 100% My traffic is shaped from 6pm onwards. If after 6pm i start up a torrent or limewire the traffic slows right down and i can barely manage 1mb download. But ntl state that normal traffic such as browsing, etc are not shaped. Well mine is! As soon as a torrent etc are started the internet is unusable, a waste of ime.
But if this is what it takes to make the internet run smoothly and fair for everybody then i must applaud them. Simply leave your torrents or whatever running at non peak hours. Simple.
But when i try just normal browsing and nothing else, and it is barely any quicker than dial up im mad. Why i waste £35 a month for dial up speeds i have no idea! Why do i waste £35 a month for them to not even care when some little ******* kid chucks a firework in the ubr because it has been bust open and left for two months? Simple! Because unfortunately even tho they are crap at times, 75% of the time they are better than other isps.
But planning on upping the sppeds is just mental!
Hang on a minute, my 1980 vauxhall nova is just about to fall apart, i know lets make it better and put a 4 litre chevy in it! Lets watch it properly fall apart!
