The file is an mpeg. It's a movie.

Also, i don't want to cut out the audio and put it back in because i'm bound to make it out of sync.

The banners, i mean, probably didn't use the right word, but basically it's a widescreen movie so the black stripes top and bottom are quite thick on screen.
