That may be so, but if remnants of Norton are still on the system, which is very likely they could be interfering with AVG's setup (it should be setup to scan msn automatically).
Go for a methodical approach, so ensure Norton has been removed first.
What MSN are you using 7.5 of live - I have a virtual box that I can test this out on for you jane
