Re: what music are you listening to?

Bat Out of Hell Vol.3: the Monster Is Loose (pre release)

Managed to blag this from my radio station yesterday. Always being a big fan of Meatloaf I couldn't wait for this. For starters, Jim Steinman's glorious over-production is evident on all tracks, especially "Land of the Pig" (my favourite song on the album so far). The 9 minute-plus Seize The Night has a slight late-1970s rock feel to it which isn't a bad thing and wouldn't have sounded out of place on BOOH1. Speaking of which, although this album is good, it's not as good as the original - I'd put it on terms with the sequel.

What About Love is the obligatory Meat-with-a-woman rock ballad and is pretty good - ditto the first track to be released, "All Coming Back To Me" which is the song Sealion Dion brought out 10 years ago (Meat wrote it for her).

And in case of any doubters - Meat's voice is as ossum as ever.

I don't think he'll win any new fans with this as he's stuck with the same formula since 1977, so if you liked the first 2 albums then you'll love this.
