To be fair, Freeview and NTL are two very different beasts. Predicting where radio waves can be received is always going to be an inexact science, until we reach the day when we have a topographical map with every tree, building and other obstacle mapped on it to minute detail.

On the other hand, NTL darned well ought to know where its street cabinets and cables are.
