1st 128K took 641 ms = 204480 Bytes/sec = approx 1701 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 141 ms = 929589 Bytes/sec = approx 7734 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 78 ms = 1680410 Bytes/sec = approx 13981 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 234 ms = 560137 Bytes/sec = approx 4660 kbits/sec

These results appear to be rather fast: maybe this page was in the browser cache.

To repeat this test from the source server click here.

To repeat this test from a web proxy cache (if present):

- in Internet Explorer for Windows:
- click "Back"
- pull down "Tools" menu, select "Internet Options"
- click on button "Delete Files..."
- click OK, click OK
- click "Forward"

- in Netscape:
- click "Back"
- pull down "Edit" menu, select "Preferences"
- expand "Advanced"
- select "Cache"
- click on button "Clear Disk Cache"
- click OK
- click "Forward"

As you can see, I'm obviously an ntl customer, as far as I am aware of, I'm using the same speed test as the ntl engineers use, "Robin Walker". I'm supposed to be on a 10meg connection, thats what I am paying for and have been doing since it came out (10 meg that is). I'm no speed test genius by any means but the tests above are telling me that I'm on a speed that is nowhere near 10meg. The most that I can get out of it is somewhere in the 6meg plus region. The lowest being, upto yet, 305kbps, surely to goodness this isn't right. Its been like this since it was upgraded, as stated above, I would appreciate your thoughts and comments. Thanks.
