Because, I think my Linksys Network Adaptor isn't working as it isn't picking up any signals. Even though the router is in the room next door?

BTW, Would a Belkin F5D7050UK Wireless Adaptor work with my Linksys Wireless-G Router? There different. The router is 802.11g and the adaptor is 802.11a? Would it still work?
