If i may correct you here, NTL
are within their rights to charge you an admin/late payment/penalty, call it what you will, it is the amount they are charging that is illegal! Nobody is above the law, not even company policy! unless NTL or ANY company can provide a breakdown of the amount the want to charge you, and to be honest up to now NTL can't, then they cannot charge you that amount. And for fear of repeating myself -
Penalty clauses in contracts in English (and Scottish) law for breach of contract are not legal if the penalty exceeds the actual cost of the breach of either party.
So can we get off the "NTL/or whatever tel-co company you work for, are well within their right to....blah, blah ,blah" as it is starting to get boring and you're making yourself look daft! yes if you pay your bill on time and via DD, have 2.4 children, take two holidays each year, walk the dog every evening and be in bed by 9PM then everything in the garden is rosey! You don't know everybody's' circumstances and they may not be able to pay DD or ontime for the next two months, oh and one more thing........
you've had a refund off NTL?........stop it you're killing me!....lol!
