Basically, anyone who is overcharged, or is not notified of a change in the date or amount of a charge is entitled to a full refund.

Unfortunately, the biggest issue is consequential loss indirectly caused by the debit. If ntl take more than they should, the 'guarantee' will insist on its reversal, however, if your bank and other debitees follow current practice and fine you for any irregularity, this is NOT covered, and you have to rely on your powers of persuasion to beg favours in getting these additional charges refunded, the DDM guarantee does not address this issue. I remain amazed at the blind faith folk have in a supplier getting full and unrestricted DD Mandates gpt unspecified amounts on unspecified dates - effectively removing all control from the account holder.
Your definition of 'full refund' differs from mine, and it is this people need to watch out for. All it can take is a week off work - perhaps due to an accident, and the financial mayhem just doesn't bear thinking about.
