I have moved house before, but only from one rented place to another rented place, and I was able to give much more notice. ~This time though, I'm on the property market (!) and due to the way that solicitors work, I haven't been able to get much leeway at all.
Thanks :-)

It may depend on whether the new gaff has an NTL cable already installed. If it does, then 'theoretically' the physical move should be relatively straightforward. Otherwise you are subject to resource on new installs in your area.
The 'loup dans l'histoire' may be billing - you will probably still have to pay for your old account up to the monthly rollover date, as well as your new account, at the same time - any excess charge 'should' be credited in the next monthly bill
