Unfortunately I have the old style BT socket without the user-openable frontpanel. I don't feel inclined to mess around where I'm not supposed to go, so I don't have too much incentive to change from BT to NTL phone service - other than the mailshot from NTL which is offering me a years free phone rental 'as a thank you (worth £114) for helping make us number 1 broadband supplier'.
