If its a "SCART" (Industry standard) lead then it should fit into a "SCART" socket, they are a strange fitting (see diagram below), make sure the scart plug is the right way up to fit the shape of the socket and ensure that none of the 20 pins on the scart plug are bent out of place, as that will prevent it going into the scart socket.
