There are no hard and fast rules. It all depends on the person and what/how bad their complaint is......
One thing.......if you get low back pain with sitting then the lumbar/sacral ligaments deform inelastically (exhibit 'creep') after 8 minutes. So if you are sitting 'badly' the rot sets in after as little as 8 minutes
......so in a case of low back pain it might be a good idea to initially set a timer to ping after about 5 minutes to remind you to sit properly/straighten up.
edit--eye strain wise (from personal experience) a tft is no strain on the eyes at all.......but maby ask an optitian for a second opinion on that
