I was reading exodus and it says that the egyptians used their arts to change their staffs into snakes as moses did. I can understand moses being able to do it because he supposedly has the power of God but the egyptians with their 'magical arts' ? Wait, I'll get the passage number...

Can anybody well versed in the bible explain what this verse means? I can't understand what they did via their 'magicl arts'.
