In answer to my previous posts, I know I am not using a proxy, and I knew how to find out if I was using a proxy, but thought it was another type of proxy everyone was referring to.
Anyhow, I managed to upload to my directory, using upload.dtn.ntl.com\username and my current password.
A couple of questions: -
1) Do I access my homepage at
homepage.ntlworld.com\username? as I believe. If so I cannot access it and receive the following:-
the page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelt correctly.
Click the Back button to try another link.
HTTP 404 - File not found
2) The above problem, may be due to the website design, as the website my wife designed in word2000 creates a default.htm, which I believe should be OK. Does anyone have any ideas?
We are only trying for a fairly basic site at the moment with photos etc, before we move onto something more adventurous
