its ok guys and girls, I have fixed it.
I went to tool, options, network then on the HTTP, MMS, and RTSP I set these all to autodetect. (MMS and RTSP where set to 'Do not use a proxy server')
This seemed to fix the problem I had, WOOOOOO!!!
only thing is some stupid girl band was on when it worked! do'h!!
