I do admire and respect Tony Blair for some of his policy's, and especially for his work in Northern Ireland.
However I think I'd have to chose Dmitriy Mendeleev, for his astounding work in constructing the periodic table and his contributions to science. Not only did he manage to come up with the categories for elements that had already been discovered he also predicted the properties of unknown elements since found.
