If Wanadoo can do 512K for £17.99 per month, then NTL certainly need to sack their sales staff.
I am "one of the masses", I DON'T care about free installation and connection, OR a "free or half-price for the first month" carrot. I DO care about speed per pound and consider that "best value deal" proposers believe Yorkshiremen say"Eeh bah goom!" and Scots chew heather.
I have been waiting in the dark since the initial promise of doubling my 150K speed during late June, which stopped me from going elsewhere.
Now I find, thanks to this great forum - no thanks to NTL at all, I have to wait until "late Summer"for an inferior deal than offered elsewhere.
And while I'm in full flow, I disagree with selfish customers who sabotage an ISP's attempts to provide a reasonable service for a reasonable price, by downloading continuously pirate music, thereby hogging all the bandwidth, slowing everyone else, increasing the cost of the service and making capping necessary.
Before I dive for cover, I will admit I have been satisfied with the service I have received from NTL for some years now, and I think the support staff terrific.

Who told you it was late june?
If it was NTL, then cancel your account.
Because they have not delivered what you were promised.
It just seems to me, might be wrong, but NTL are getting the money in first before coughing up.
A bit like I have stated previous, you go into your supermarket and pick up a 4 pint carton of milk, getting to the checkout they tell you that will be £3.
When you query the price they tell you "But in late summer it is going to be 6 pints".
